Happy Halloweeeeeeeeeeeen!

My fravrite Halloween trainin' move is suspended windshield wipers for my abs!
Hiya, Big People!  Your pal Zoe here!

Well, as you know, today's Halloween, and I'll be showin' ya a picture of me in my Halloween costume one of these days soon, but today, I wanna talk about trainin' for Halloween.

It's really important!

I mean, ya hafta have enough strength and energy to make it all the way through Tricker Treating, and quite often, that means schlepping a Halloween costume AND a snow-suit around your neighborhood, and that isn't even taking into consideration your bagga treats ya hafta carry!

So I do a number of things to prepare for Halloween, and I start training on November First.  I do things to condition my cardiovascular system such as running up and down stairs, running through the yard, and running up and down the driveway.  Lotsa running.  To train my muscles, I carry heavy bags of books, heavy bags of toys, and then I take to my swingset or as I call it, my yard-installed exercise complex.

My favorite thing to do is suspended windshield wipers.  I hang from the trapeze, bring my knees up to my chest, easy-like, then make my legs arc through the air like windshield wipers.  It is SO MUCH FUN!!!

So anyways, tonight's a big night, and I've been trainin' for it for the last three-hundred sixty-five days, Friends.  I'll be seein' ya tomorrow!  I love ya lots, and Happy Halloween, Friends!  Mua-hahahahahahahaha!

The Attitude Is in the Eye of the Beholder!

Lettuce be friends, but don't tread on me, Friends!
Hi, Big People!  Well, it's Sunday, isn't it?

You know, I've been told I look like I have a Bad Attitude today.

I disagree.

What some might see as a "bad attitude," I would definitely call "just bein' assertive and standin' up for my beliefs and my interests and assertin' my independence."

Is it MY fault that all those things happen not to intersect successfully with someone else's beliefs about what my interests should be?  Is it MY fault that my independence is inconvenient for some people?

No.

In the words of Elena of Avalor, a personal heroine of mine, "This is my time!"

This is MY time, Big People.  The attitude is in the eye of the beholder, by golly!

I'll see ya tomorrow!  Muah!

I Don't Wanna Taco'Bout It!

Is that the phone? If it's for me, tell 'em I'm not here!
Well, hiya, Big People!  Happy Saturday to you!

Ya know, I'm a kid with a sympathetic face, and a sympathetic ear on either side of my sympathetic face.  And sometimes, people take advantage of those sympathetic ears.

For instance, I recently completed a protracted telephone conversation with my former co-worker Deborah Downer, from over at The Company.

Apparently, Deborah Downer had a pizza delivered to her desk at The Company.  She ordered Classic Cheese, but instead got Extra Cheese, and that disconcerted her.  So after she ate the Extra Cheese Pizza, she gave me a ring on the phone to tell me how upset she was about her pizza being Extra Cheese insteadda Classic Cheese.

To be honest, I was perplexed as to why Deborah Downer was so upset about the pizza, and also I was confused as to why she called me to tell me about it.  I work at Donut Dude's, not Pizza Guy's.  But I am a regular Pizza Guy's customer, and I hafta say, all the pizzas are delicious, especially Classic Cheese AND Extra Cheese!

So throughout the thirty-six-and-a-half minute conversation, which really amounted to Deborah Downer doing all the talking and me saying "Oh, my!" and "Jeeze, that's intense," and "I've gotta go to the potty!", I learned that Deborah Downer called Pizza Guy's and chewed out the person that answered the phone, and wanted to talk to Pizza Guy himself.  Pizza Guy was out delivering pizzas, and they told Deborah Downer that he'd call her back when he had a chance, once he was back to HQ.  Evidently, Deborah Downer waited fifteen minutes and called back, to see if Pizza Guy was back and just avoiding calling her, and when she was told he wasn't even back yet, she yelled "Your customer service STINKS!!!" and hung up on them.

And that's when she called me and told me everything she wanted to say to Pizza Guy when he finally called her back.  And I can assure you, Friends, that had Deborah Downer not been banned for three months from calling Pizza Guy's, they would have been chewn the heck out.

In fact, I'm feelin' a little rebuffed myself, and I had nothing to do with any of this.

So for the rest of the day, if the phone rings and it's for me, my policy is that I'm not here.  Whatever it is, I do NOT wanna Taco'bout it!

The Hills Are Alive With Halloween Excitement!

Buckle up, Friends!  We're gettin' on the Holiday Express!
Hiya, Big People!  Happy Friday to you!

Well, ya know, Big People, this is the last Friday before Halloween.  This is a big deal, because as you know, Halloween is the Gateway Holiday.

It's true.

Once ya get through Halloween, you're into November, and it's just a banana-peel ride through to Thanksgiving, then December.

I hope you know that my Halloween excitement has built itself up this year so that I will have a surplus of excitement, which will convert itself to Christmas excitement and to a lesser degree, Thanksgiving excitement.

I don't have anything against Thanksgiving.  I love to eat, especially real food.  You'll remember my travails as a formula-drinkin' baby.  It was torture, bein' a food appreciator who wasn't able to appreciate Thanksgiving food because I wasn't even three months old yet.  Also, I love Thanksgiving because of the big balloons in the Macy's parade, and also, I get to see Aunt Colleen and Uncle Lorentz on Thanksgiving!

It's just that as a Little Kid, I took an oath to be excited about Christmas the most.  You understand, Big People.  I mean, in your grown-up parlance, the way you express the ultimate in excitement is sayin' "I was like a Little Kid on Christmas!"  There ya go.  I am, in fact, a Little Kid.  Christmas is comin'.  I feel comfortable and justified in my excitement.

But first, we Halloween!

I'll see ya tomorrow, Friends!  I love ya lots!  Muah!

Wallflower!

I am Cinderella. I put it all together, and I'm gonna drive it home with one headlight!
Hiya, Big People!  Happy Thursday to ya!

Well, ya know, I'm a kid that tends to stand out.  I'm not sure why.  I don't worry about it, anyways.

But I've noticed lately, sometimes my clothings look a lot like wallpaper and soft furnishings.

It's true.

It's like my chifferobe is tryin' to tell me something!

I think my chifferobe is tryin' to tell me that it doesn't matter that I'm dressed like wallpaper or pillows or an area rug.  None of that is gonna dull my sparkle.

I can drive this all home with one headlight, Babies!  I'll see ya tomorrow!  Muah!

Ridin' Around in Circles

On a carousel, it really is more about the journey insteadda the destination.
Friends, don't get me wrong.

I am an equestrian enthusiast of the first order.  I love horses.  I love to ride horses of a different color, and I love to ride horses of a more conventional color.  I also love to ride giraffes (of course!), lions, and tigers, and bears. Why, I'd even ride a camel or an elephant if I had the chance!

Thing of it is, any ride I've ever been on, it seems like i just ride around and around in circles, moving but getting nowhere.  Do you ever feel like that?

It's in times like those where I really hafta take a breath and take stock of what I'm doing and what I hope to accomplish.  And you know what I realize most of the time, Friends?  I realize that it isn't so important where I end up, but instead, it's really important that I went on the journey.

Unless I have an appointment somewhere.  Then it's definitely more important that I end up where I'm supposed to, and I get there on time.

Life's all about knowing when to appreciate the journey, and when to get to where you're going.

Think about it, Big People!  I love ya lots, and I'll see ya tomorrow!  I love ya lots!  Muah!

I Am The Sugarplum Fairy!

Oh, hiya!  Nice to meet you!  I'm the Sugarplum Fairy!
Well, hiya, Big People!  Happy Tuesday to you!

As you know, today's the Twenty-Fifth.  To celebrate this fact, I have decided to practice my best Sugarplum Fairy, in anticipation of The Big Twenty-Fifth that's coming up two months from now.

What bein' a great Sugarplum Fairy means to me is that not only do I get to dress in a really purdy dress and dance around like a sugary drop of snow, but I also bring sunshine and sweetness into the lives of everyone I meet!

Mostly, I like to bring sunshine and sweetness into people's lives by lookin' 'em in the eye, sayin' please and thank-you, maybe even smilin' at 'em.  I don't always feel like it, but on the days that I do, I sure run with it.

Bein' a Sugarplum Fairy really has very little to do with my purdy dress, you know.  It's just I think I act better when I'm dressed better.

I sure love ya lots, Friends!  I'll be seein' ya tomorrow, mmmkay?  Muah!

Comin' Down the Home Stretch!

Christmas Eve is comin'!
Hiya, Big People!

I'll tell ya what.  Even though it's Monday, I'm still SUPER EXCITED!!!  Wanna know why?

Well, it's the Twenty-Fourth, and that means only two months until the most wondrous night of the year, which is Christmas Eve!  I'm not even gonna apologize for makin' ya feel uncomfortable for uttering the "Christmas" word today, Big People, if it makes ya uncomfortable that I'm utterin' the "Christmas" word.

I'm excited about it.  I'm a little kid, and part of my whole entire job description is being SUPER EXCITED!!! about Christmas.  And something I am known for is approaching my jobs with enthusiasm and verve!

Well, now ya know.  Two months to get yourself squared away for Christmas.  You don't hafta ignore Halloween (how could you?) or Thanksgiving (why would you?), even if you're workin' on Christmas, along.

I love ya lots, Friends!  Happy people plan ahead!  Write it down!  I'll see ya tomorrow.  Muah!

Give-Back Girls!

We're pretty much the Give-Back Girls!
Well, hiya, Big People!  Happy Sunday to you!

Well, ya know, something Rozzie and I like to do is give back.  We both feel that the Universe is really good to us, and we like to honor that by giving back to the Universe by paying forward kindness.  It makes me feel all warm-n-fuzzy inside, and makes Rozzie feel all warm-n-fuzzy outside, as well as inside!

Another way Rozzie and I Give Back is when somebody's bein' snarky with us.  Pidgie McDougall, for instance.  Pidgie sure can dish it out, Big People.  You know what I'm talkin' about, because everybody has a Pidgie McDougall in their lives.

Well, Rozzie and I give back by returning Pidgie's snark back to the source, which is Pidgie.  We're still giving back Kind.  In-kind, that is to say.

I don't really see it as stoopin' to Pidgie's level as much as I see it as standin' up for ourselves.  Besides, we're never as mean as Pidgie is.

But the giving-back Rozzie and I really prefer to do is project true kindness into the world.  Makin' people smile.  I mean, right now, I'm a Little Kid and she's a Dog, and neither one of us really has a big budget for philanthropy just yet.  But when we do, look the heck out, Friends!  Look the heck right out!

Hey.  I love ya lots.  Rozzie loves ya lots.  Pidgie McDougall does not love ya lots, because you're my friends, but she's the guest of honor at the pity-party she threw herself, and is lovin' every minute of it, so don'tchyoo worry about her!  I'll be seein' ya tomorrow!  Muah!

On Saturdays, I Wear My Jammies All Day...

...Actually, I don't.  This girl likes to be ready to be on the go!
Hiya, Big People!  Happy Saturday to you!

Well, ya know, Saturdays and jammies were made for each other.  Nothing's better than just stayin' in your jammies all dang ol' day on a Saturday.

Now, despite the title for today's weblog post, I don't wear my jammies all day.  Not ever.  Not even when I'm sick.

My clothings are comfortable.  I instructed Mommy long ago not to buy me anything with scratchy lace or pokey fasteners or binding fabrics.  On the few occasions when I've wound up with a clothing that isn't comfortable, I rebel and refuse to wear the offending clothings.

Life is too short to let scratchy lace make ya uncomfortable, Big People!  Write that down and take it the heck to heart!

Anyways, like I said, my clothings are comfortable, so even on a Saturday, I don't hafta wear my jammies all day in order to feel nicey cozy.  And I don't.

You see, I'm a girl who likes to be ready to be on the go at less than a moment's notice, so I get dolled up in the morning and I don't look back for the whole entire day.  I'm happy to put my jammies on at night, if all possibility for going somewhere has been exhausted.  But otherwise, I stay all dolled up.  Even when I nap.

But if you'd like to stay in your jammies all day, Friends, you go right ahead.  It's your Saturday, so you might as well have it your way, mmmkay?  I love ya lots!  I'll see ya tomorrow!  Muah!

Why I Oughdda!

I just wanna be mad right now, got it?!
Hiya, Big People!  Well, it's Friday, isn't it?

I'd say 'Happy Friday' to ya, but thing of it is, I'm not in the mood to be happy today.  Not even a little bit.

I can't really put my finger on why I've been so angry lately, but you know what?  Tryin' to figure out why I'm so mad makes me EVEN MADDER!!!

Everything's just gettin' on my nerves.  Do you ever have that, Friends?  Where everything gets on your nerves, and you're not sure why, but thinkin' about it makes ya even madder, and havin' smug people tellin' ya that maybe you oughtta take a nap or stop eatin' sugar or foods with red food color in it might make ya stop bein' so mad makes ya wanna stack 'em up in a smug people stack then knock 'em all over?  Do you ever have that happen to you?

It's happening to me right now.  I'm just mad.  I want everybody else to be mad right now, too.  I don't want anybody to be happy.  I want everyone to be as angry as I am right now, and not to know why.

MISERY LOVES COMPANY, BIG PEOPLE, BUT COMPANY MAKES ME MISERABLE RIGHT NOW!  AAAAAAARGH!

I'm gonna go.  I'm even makin' myself mad.  I'll see ya tomorrow.  GrRRrRR!

The Times They Are A-Changing!

I have a loose tooth, Big People!
Hiya, Friends!  Happy Thursday to ya!

So!  How's it goin' today, Big People?  It's goin' GREAT for me!

Well, ya know, the other day, I was eatin' like I do, and I said to Mommy 'Say, Mommy, I have a toothache.  It hurts when I bite on stuff."

She said she'd tell Daddy, but as it turned out, it slipped her mind.  I see how she is.

Anyways, I was eatin' a hoagie last night, because hoagies are my fravrite, and I told Daddy myself that I was experiencing dental discomfort in the frontmost tooth on the left bottom of my mouth.  He took one glance, gave the tooth a little wiggle, and ... IT WIGGLED!!!  And.  He had me tip my head forward, so he could see behind the wiggling tooth.  Do you know what he saw?

He saw another tooth growing behind the wiggling tooth!  Do you know what this means, Big People Friends?!

I HAVE A LOOSE TOOTH, FRIENDS!!!

The Tooth Fairy is gonna be visiting me soon, I just know it!

So this is a really exciting day for me!  I'll keep ya posted, but for now, I've gotta go!  I'll see ya tomorrow!  Love ya lots!  Muah!

Thank Goodness It's Wednesday!

Boyo boy, was I ever mixed up on what day it is!
Well, hiya, Big People!  Happy Wednesday to you!

Well, ya know, for a lotta the day yesterday, I thought it was Wednesday.  As you know, it was Tuesday.  Not Wednesday.

Have you ever had that happen, Friends?  Ya think it's one day farther along in the week than it actually is?  It's embarrassing!

I guess, though, I oughtta put a positive spin on this for myself.  Because I thought it was Wednesday yesterday, I lived my life as though it was Wednesday.  I was emotionally prepared for today to be Thursday, but now that I know that it's really Wednesday, what I've really done is gained a whole entire day for myself to use at my own discretion.  How about that?!

Friends, your attitude determines your altitude in life!  I love ya lots!  I'll see ya tomorrow...THURSDAY!  Muah!

Two-Steppin' Tuesday!

The Two-Step is the only dance to do on a Tuesday!
Hiya, Big People!  Happy Tuesday to you!

Well, ya know, it's been a little while since I've talked about dancing, and since today's Two-Step Tuesday, I think there's no better day than today to talk about it!

The Tuesday Two-Step is really easy to do.  You take a long step, long step, then short step-step.  It's a whole lot of fun!

Just be glad we're talking on Two-Step Tuesday and not Flamenco Friday!

Anyways, once you get your Tuesday Two-Step down pat, put on any musics you like, and just dance to it.  It sure goes a darn sight along in helping make Tuesday more fun and less of the ugly step-sister of the week!

You have lots to practice, so I'll let ya go!  Just for today.  I love ya lots!  See ya tomorrow!

Muah!

It's Monday, All Over Again!

Week, this is the face of your boss!  Wheee!
Hiya, Big People!  Happy Monday to you!

Well, if it isn't Monday all over again.

That means we have another week we get to grab right by the horns.

I think this is gonna be a good week.  I have a lot to do, and it's all fun things.

I hope you get to have fun this week, Friends.  And you can.  It's all about your attitude.  Some weeks, it's easier to have a good attitude and make everything fun, and other weeks, it's harder.  The trick is to keep tryin'.

Friends, you look Monday right in the eye, smile, and say "Monday, I am the boss of you!"

I'll see ya tomorrow!  I love ya lots!  Muah!

These Are Wondrous Times We Live In!

I am so glad to live in a time where we have chocolate chip pancakes, Friends!
Hiya, Big People!  Happy Sunday to you!

Hey, did you even know that these are wondrous times we live in?  Well, they are.  Truly wondrous.  If ya don't believe me, lemme wanna hafta tell ya all about why they're wondrous.

Chocolate chip pancakes.  That's why.

Well, it's because I love pancakes so much.  I really do.  And I also love dessert, for which chocolate chips certainly qualify.

Chocolate chip pancakes just take everything wonderful about a perfectly-griddled chewy-fluffy-slightly crisp on the very outside golden pancake and combines it with the good-for-you desserty goodness of chocolate chips.  Add in maple syrup and maybe a little whippy-whipped cream, and this kid is one delighted Little Kid.

Oh my goodness.

So that's why these are wondrous times we live in, Friends.  I'm so glad I get to live in a time where we have chocolate chip pancakes.

Seek the simple things in life, is what I say.

Hey.  I love ya lots, Big People!  I'll see ya tomorrow.  Muah!

The Cleanup of a Thousand Toys...

...Begins with the first pick-up and put-away, Big People.
Hiya, Big People!  Happy Saturday to you!

Well, ya know, I am a lucky little kid.  Blessed, really, if ya wanna get right down to it.  I am a blessed Little Kid.

Sometimes the abundance of my blessings just overflows and overflows, like toys pourin' out of a toybox.  And I'll tell ya what, that's exactly what happened to me in my office toy-room.

Toys were everywhere, Friends.  Toys covered the floor.  In hindsight, it was awful, and I'm ashamed I let things get so bad.  Those are my things, and I really like 'em, but I wasn't treatin' 'em with respect.

But I was so overwhelmed, I didn't even know where to start.  So I did what I usually do when I find myself in a jelly of a jam, and I asked my best pal Rozzie what I should do.  Rozzie said that the cleanup of a thousand toys begins with the first pick up and put away.

I didn't know what she meant at first, Friends.  I thought she was just being cryptic, like some kind of cryptic guru-dog or something.  But then I really got to thinkin' about what she said, and she was right.  I needed to just go pick up and put away one toy.  That led me to pickin' up and puttin' away another toy.  This continued until all the toys were picked up and put into their places, and you know what I found?

I found that the floor of my office-playroom has a really nice carpet on it, that's fun to sit on when I play with a toy.  And my job doesn't get overwhelming when I play, then pick up and put away.

I won't say that I'll never get my playroom in sucha state again, Friends, but I will tell ya that I'm gonna work really hard not to, just the same.

I love ya lots, Big People!  I'll see ya tomorrow!  Muah!

Freestylin' Friday!

I'm goin' on a surfin' safari on the couch!
Hiya, Big People!  Happy Friday to ya!

Well, ya know, I love music.  I love all kinds of music, but today, I have the Beach Boys playing.

The Beach Boys just make me feel like I'm at the beach.  There's just something about that music, you know, Friends?  It makes me wanna dance.  It makes me wanna surf!

So I set up a surfin' safari for myself on the living room couch.  Don't worry.  I don't get my bike anywheres near the surfin' safari.  If I've learned anything in 2016, it's that couches and bicycles do NOT mix!  And that goes double for couch surfin' safaris and bikes.

All's I do when I'm surfin' on the couch is that I jump up on the cushions and pretend I'm catchin' some righteous waves.

Safety first on Freestylin' Friday Surfin' Safaris.  That's what!

Hey.  I'll be seein' ya tomorrow.  I love ya lots!  Muah!

Rhythmic Ribbons!

Rainbow Rhythmic Ribbons are really the best Rhythmic Ribbons!
Hiya, Big People!  Happy Thursday to you!

Well, ya know, I'm quite an athlete.  I do the air hockey, I do the dancing.  I do the Kung Fu.

One of my favorite sports is dancing with Rhythmic Ribbons.  It's a really great sport, too, Big People.  Ya get elements of dance and Kung Fu and gymnastics, all rolled into one!

Plus, it's really pretty to watch, on accounta the ribbons are so colorful and they look so beautiful, flying around in the air!

It's really important to find a sport that ya love, Big People!  Ya gotta keep moving!  If ya rest, ya rust!

Hey, I'll see ya tomorrow, Friends!  I love ya lots!  Muah!

Takin' My Air Hockey Game Pro!

I am a stay-at-home, go-out, forward, defenseman, goalie!
Hiya, Big People!  Happy Wednesday!

Well, ya know, I am a hockey fan, and I also like Bubble Hockey and Air Hockey.  In fact, I like Air Hockey so much that I have decided that I am going to go pro and join the National Local Little Kid Air Hockey League.

What I really love about the lively sport of air hockey is that I get to be all the players on the ice.  I'm the forward.  I'm the defenseman.  I'm at once Center and Winger and Firehouse.  (Hahaha!  Old-fashioned music joke there, for ya!  Honk if ya get it!)

I am the goal-tender.

Also, there is no ice.

Not that I don't love ice, Friends. but air hockey tables are really nice to be around, because there's always a nice breeze when ya play.

There aren't a lot of spectators, but I betchya that'll all change when I go pro.  I bet the air hockey arenas are filled to the rafters, every pro game!

I love ya lots, Big People!  I'll see ya tomorrow!  Muah!

When Your Dog Joins Your Win, Loser, Draw! Team

Lemme guess, Rozz.  Is it... a Greenie?
Hiya, Big People!

Well, ya know, I've gone and gotten myself all signed up for a Win, Loser, Draw! tournament, and I have a team of me and my pals Buddy, Puppy, Abigail, Walter Sweet, Sabretooth, and my dog and best pal Rozzie.

For the most part, we team well together.  When one of us is drawin', the rest of us can pretty much guess what's bein' drawn.  It's pretty great!

Thing is, whenever it's Rozzie's turn to draw, it doesn't matter what it says to draw for us to guess, she always draws a Greenie, because that's her favorite treat.  And we all guess "Greenie!" because we know that if it's Rozzie that's up to draw, that's what she's drawing!

It complicates matters of the scoreboard, though, Friends, because she's supposedta draw what's on the card, and then we guess what she's drawin'.  That's how the game works.

But she reads the card and draws what she wants, which is a Greenie, and then we guess that she's drawin' a Greenie, but we don't get any points. It's a crock, the rules of Win, Loser, Draw!

We're all havin' a great time, though.  It's fun for us, whether we win or lose!

I love ya lots, Friends!  I've gotta go see what Rozzie's drawing now, in case it's something other than a Greenie!  Muah!

It's Monday All Over Again, Isn't It?

I turned around and saw Monday standin' there!  Eeps!
Hiya, Big People!  Well, it's Monday again, by golly.

I just don't know what to say, Big People.  Monday's a heck of a way to end a weekend, especially because last night had a very distinct Saturday Night feel for me.

In fact, I was so disappointed to find out today's Monday that I was about to make a righteously indignant speech about it, when I turned around and saw Monday standing right behind me.

Talk about awkward!

Anyways, I understand for a lot of you, it isn't a typical Monday, on accounta Columbus Day.  If you get the day off today, good for you!  I do not.  Today is a typical Monday for this kid.

I love ya lots, Big People, and I'll see ya tomorrow, but for now, I've got work to do!

Muah!

I Don't Wanna, But I Will!

With a great amount of toys comes a great responsibility.
Hiya, Big People!  Happy Sunday to you!

So!  How's it going?

Well, ya know, I have fought a lifelong battle with not wantin' to clean up my toys.  After fightin' with me about it for a long time, Mommy and Daddy decided they weren't gonna fight with me anymore, and they let me be as messy as I wanna be.

It sure was fun for a while, draggin' my toys all out and just leavin' 'em, but then something curious happened.  The floor in my play room disappeared.  I didn't even have any more room to play with my toys.

So we had a marathon cleanin' session in my playroom.  It still isn't perfect, but it's a lot better than it was.  I can find the floor to play with my toys, and slowly but surely, I'm findin' all my toys and findin' homes within the storages in my play room for every toy.

I really like bein' able to play on the floor in my play room, Friends, and the only way I can sustain this level of playability is to put away my toys after I'm finished playin' with 'em.

At the end of play, I don't wanna put my toys away, because that isn't as much fun as playin', but it keeps things nice.  So pickin' up and puttin' away, I will do.

It's all about bein' responsible, Friends, and I'm really tryin'!  I love ya lots, and I'll be seein' ya tomorrow!  Muah!

Zoga: Focus on Milk Carton Pose!

Milk Carton Pose helps your bones feel strong!
Hiya, Big People!  Happy Saturday to you!

Well, ya know, I am a Zoga master, and today I'd like to talk to you about Milk Carton Pose, which is a pose where you stand up straight, straight, straight.  Evenly distribute your weight on the triad of your foot, so your heel and the ball of your foot are both feeling the same amount of pressure from the floor.   Raise your arms over your head, and press the palms of your hands together.  It's best if ya can keep your shoulders away from your ears, and ya can do that by relaxing your shoulders and letting your scapulae slide down into place on your back.

Milk Carton Pose is a great Zoga pose to do if you need to feel taller.  It also helps your bones feel strong.

I call it Milk Carton Pose because with your hands up over your head like that, ya kinda look like a milk carton.  How about that?!  Isn't that clever?

Anyways, as is the case with all Zoga poses, ya wanna make sure you keep breathing.  I cannot emphasize enough the importance of breathing while you do any Zoga pose. Or while you're going about your daily activities.  Breathing is kind of essential.

Now you know all about Milk Carton Pose, and you can start practicing it whenever you want.  You'll feel taller, stronger, and you will have never breathed so well in all your life.

I love ya lots, Friends!  I'll see ya tomorrow!  Muah!

The Tiki Pinata That Lived

Well, I guess we have a pal named Tiki now, Rozzie!
Hiya, Big People!  Happy Friday to you!

Well, ya know, I'm a kid who loves luau parties and tikis and my pal Rozzie!

For my recent Fifth Birthday, I held a luau party, featuring a tiki pinata filled with Tootsie Roll products.

Now, I'm sure you all know how a pinata works.  Ya whack it with a ball-bat, it breaks open, the candy comes out, and you move on with your life.

Except that didn't happen with my tiki pinata.  I whacked it with a baseball bat, and whacked it, but it didn't break.  The little hatch opened where the candy was put in, so I had Daddy get the tiki down and I poured the candy out.

As you can imagine, the tiki and I have had some awkward times.  I wasn't emotionally prepared to be his long-term friend, and he has trust issues with me, on accounta I tried to break him open with a baseball bat.

It's been a little over a month since my birthday party, and the tiki has moved into my office.  He overlooks me and all my toys.  We've come to an understanding.  We aren't exactly pals yet, but I've made it clear that I'm not gonna fill Tiki with candy and whack him with the pinata again.  In time, Tiki and I will be friends.

You just never know where life is gonna take you, Friends.  Ya just never know.

I love ya lots, Friends!  I'll be seein' ya tomorrow!  Muah!

Sunday, Monday, Happy Days!

They're all happy days to me, even the ones I forget to list off!
Hiya, Big People!  Happy Thursday to you!

Well, ya know, I'm learnin' the days of the week and how to string 'em all up in order, like beads on a necklace, and I do pretty darned good when I start out with Sunday.

After Sunday, I know Monday turns up.

I even remember Tuesday.

Wednesday and Thursday, I skip right over most of the time.  I don't mean to.  It isn't that I dislike Wednesday and Thursday.  In fact, I like 'em a lot!

I just don't always remember 'em, which is to say I pretty much always forget Wednesday and Thursday.

I go straight from Tuesday to Friday.  Boyo boy, talk about a dang ol' timewarp, Big People!  Could you imagine if that's the way it really was?  Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday?  Boy, I bet a lot of things would be weird.

Someday, I'll get it all right.  I'll remember to put in Wednesday and Thursday.  In the meantime, they're all Happy Days for me.  I hope they are to you, too, Friends!

I love ya lots!  I'll see ya tomorrow!  Muah!

Butterfly!

Butterflies are like flying flowers, Friends!
Hiya, Big People!  Happy Wednesday to you!

Well, ya know, I am an avid reader, and also an ardent admirer of butterflies, and I've been learnin' a lot about butterflies lately.

Did you even know that butterflies hatch from eggs and spend the first part of their lives as little worms called caterpillars?  It's true!  And those caterpillars eat and eat and eat and eat!

This process is detailed in detail in the informative Eric Carle book The Very Hungry Caterpillar.  Boyo boy, can those little caterpillars eat!

When they get tired of eatin', the caterpillars hook themselves onto a leaf and spin a chrysalis around themselves, and something magical happens.  The caterpillar goes from being a worm to becoming a butterfly!

Monarch butterflies travel thousands of miles in what's called a migration.  They go there and not quite back again, but their butterfly kids end up finishin' up the journey.  The butterflies I saw in the butterfly room at the Museum of Play live for only about two weeks.

All butterflies have this tube that they roll out so they can drink nectar.   That fascinates me.  That essentially means that butterflies carry a crazy straw with 'em at all times, and I really admire that kind of preparedness!

I had a butterfly land on me at the Museum of Play, and it was such a life-changing experience for me, like the first time I met Nora the Little Giraffe, four years ago.  I've had butterflies on my bedding ever since I was born, but I didn't really appreciate them until that one landed on me.  I think butterflies and I are gonna be life-long pals.

I think you and I are also gonna be life-long pals, Big People!  I love ya lots, and I'll be seein' ya tomorrow!  Muah!

10-4, Good Buddy!

I 10-4 that 10-Codes are rad!
Hiya, Big People!

Well, ya know, I think I write about this every year on October the Fourth, but it's so catchy I can't help myself.  Today is 10-4, which in ten-code means "I understand."

Since I'm Five now, I 10-4 a lot of things I didn't used to, Good Buddy.  I 10-4 the value of a good nap, for instance.  Back when I was a kid, naps and I did NOT get along.  Now, naps and I are cool.  I like 'em!

I also 10-4 all the letters in the alphabet.  Sometimes I get Little D and Little B mixed up, and Little Q and Little P, and sometimes my Zs get turned around the wrong way, but I 10-4 those letters when I see 'em, friends, and that's the start of a lifelong friendship right there.

One thing that I have ALWAYS 10-4'ed, though, Friends, is how important it is to Be Me.  You know what I'm talkin' about.  Bein' me means that I can like something, even though other people might not.  Spinach, for instance.  That's something I like that apparently is a little divisive.  Bein' me means that I will keep on doing what I like, even if other people think I'm kinda nerdy, quirky, or weird for it.  I won't let 'em make me feel bad for lettin' my Freak Flag Fly, Friends, and neither should you!  That's another thing I really 10-4, and that's that all my friends each have their own things that make them unique, and I just love that!  If I wanted everybody to be like me, I'd spend the whole day in front of a mirror.

And as interesting as I am for bein' me, Friends, I'd get pretty bored, right quick, stuck in my own company for that long. You bet I would!

So, hey.  Learn to 10-4 something new today.  10-Codes, for instance.  That'd be fun!  But whatever you do, Be You!  I love ya lots!  Zoe out!  Muah!

It Started with Movin' a Television....

It's like we have a whole new house!
Hiya, Big People!  Happy Monday to you!

So!  How's it goin'?

Boyo boy, did I ever have a WEEKEND.  We decided to move the television that was originally in the family room into the living room, because we got another television for the family room, because we thought the television that was originally in the family room was broken, but turns out...

It wasn't broken.

Well, ya  know, it starts out with just wantin' to move the television.  Seems simple enough.

Grownups, you know it's NEVER as simple as it seems!  First of all, Daddy had to move an electrical box.  But then he had to take down some of the wood on the living room wall.  After that, he had to put it back.  Then he hung up the television.

Well, we couldn't keep the furnitures the way they were before the new old television moved rooms, because none of it was facing that particular wall, so we slid furnitures all around the floor for optimal comfort and television viewing, while keeping a configuration that allows for maximum conversation as well.

We got it done, though.  I'm still getting used to the furniture like this, but I think I'm gonna like it.  I just feel like I need a weekend to recover from my weekend!

Do you ever feel like that, Friends?

I sure love ya lots!  I'll be seein' ya tomorrow!  Be good to yourself!  Muah!

Grabbin' the Day By the Horns!

It's so important to grab your day by the horns!
Hiya, Big People!  Happy Sunday to you!

Well, ya know, I'm a kid who likes to grab a day by its dang ol' horns, you know?

There are many advantages to grabbin' the day by the dang ol' horns, Big People.  For starters, ya get more day when ya grab it by the horns.  Also, when ya grab the day by the horns, you show that day who's boss.

In fact, I am such a boss-enthusiast that I not only grab the day by the horns, but I lift it up and swing it around my head.  You really hafta, Friends.  It's how ya get the most out of your day.

Especially weekend days, Bug People.  So how about you go get up from your computer, meet the day, say, "Hiya, Sunday!" then grab this dang ol' weekend day by the horns and just swing it around and around your head!  Do it!

I love ya lots, Big People!  I'll be seein' ya tomorrow!  Muah!

Little Pink Weights

If you're happy and ya know it, lift some weights!
Hiya, Big People!  Happy Saturday to you!

Well, ya know, I am a fitness enthusiast.  I just love grabbin' weights and swingin' 'em around like a champ.  It really makes my muscles happy.

It makes my HEART happy!

I think it has a lot to do with the fact that I have two sets of Little Pink Weights.  One pound and two pounds.  Sure, I'm eyein' up those edgy-looking muted gunmetal iron weights for when I'm bigger, but right now, there's little that compares to the feeling of getting down to the gymnasium and seein' my Little Pink Weights weighting for me.  There's nothing like commanding those weights to get them to do what I want 'em to, and what I want 'em to do is to make my bones and muscles and heart and lungs stronger and even more unstoppable!

Friends, you might think I'm crazy, bein' so crazy about fitness, but it really feels great to take care of myself!

Liftin' my Little Pink Weights makes me happy!  And if you're happy and ya know it, ya lift some weights!

I love ya lots, Friends!  I'll see ya tomorrow!  Muah!
