I hope I look okay so I don't embarrass my Little Giraffe Friends! |
Now, you know how it goes, don't you, Friends? You get all gussied up and down to the North Bingham Underground platform, only to find out your train's late.
On the North Bingham Underground, you hafta pay attention to what color lights are on the front of the train that's coming into the station. If they have white lights and an orange stripe, it's the train that runs underneath the 1013 and it doesn't go down any spurs. If the train has an orange stripe and has yellow lights on the front, it's the train that goes into Bingham Center and then turns left and heads down a side-spur. So if you're trying to get to West Bingham, you've gotta make sure you hop on the train with the white lights and the orange stripe.
I love going places with my Little Giraffe Friends! |
We were riding the train with the blue stripe that day, though, because we were going to Llake Lloyd, and we wanted to make sure our train had green lights on the front, instead of white, so we'd know that it was going to the Llake Lloyd Recreation District and not on down the line to Mills.
Well, wouldn't you know, all the trains that came through the station while we were waiting on the platform either had the wrong color stripe, but the right color lights, or the right stripe, wrong lights.
It was maddening, because my friends and I needed to get to the convention to the registration table. You know how those registrators can get if you're a little late registrating and getting your nametag and swag bag and such. We didn't want to start the convention on a sour note!
This is the face they make at the Registration Table if you're late! |
Actually, they just make a mean face and cluck their tongues and say "You're late," and then, the whole time you're getting registrated, they sit there, huffing and puffing and making you feel like a heel for bein' late.
Good thing everybody else at a Little Giraffe Convention is super-friendly, even if you ARE late. They know how those Underground Trains can be! So they don't try to make ya feel small if you were late because you hafta wait for your train!
Hooray! There's our train! We can get to the convention now! |
So we all hopped on the train and found seats, and off we went, to the convention! We got seaweed snacks in our swag bags at the registration table, and the people were really nice there (because we weren't late- we JUST made it!). Our nametags looked just like green coconut leaves, so they looked really nice against all the Little Giraffes' coloration!
My Little Giraffe Friends and I spoke in a symposium about how TigerBabies like me can learn to get along with Little Giraffes and even get to be great friends with 'em. It was so much fun! We can't wait to go to the next convention.
We might see if we can't get the company Club Van for the trip next time, though. The Club Van is never late.
