Remember the Hellman

Would I really spin ya an untrue tale about Sinko the Mayo, Big People?
Hiya, Friends!  As you know, today is Sinko the Mayo, which is a day commemorating the loss at sea of the SS Hellman

The SS Hellman was sunken by a torpedo fired from the HMS Miracle Whip, back in the 1800s, during the Potato Salad Wars.

Friends, the loss of the Hellman was something people never got over.  I mean, never.  That's why they went and made this Day of Remembrance to commemorate the day the Mayo got Sankoed.

Appropriate ways to celebrate Sinko the Mayo include making all your potato and macaroni-based salads with real mayonnaise, Hellman's perhaps.  I mean, do NOT, whatever you do, show up to a Sinko the Mayo picnic with potato or macaroni salad sporting a tangy zip today.  Save that for Memorial Day.  Today, mayonnaise only.  Also, you could enjoy a tomato and mayonnaise sandwich, showcasing the wonderful interplay of flavors from the tomato and the mayonnaise.

So that's that.  If you've ever wondered what Sinko the Mayo was all about, now you know.  Aren't you glad you have me around, Big People?

I'll see ya tomorrow!  I love ya lots! Muah!
